This week, we bring you a former regional dubstep talent – Mael – exclusively in the mix with some proper material.
In the past 5 years of living in China, Mael has become a leading DJ in the capital city’s electronic music scene . As part of the “The Syndicate” crew, Mael has played his fair part in pushing the underground music movement in Beijing, involving bass heavy styles from Drum and Bass and Reggae to Dubstep. Mael recently returned to Europe, and now based in the lovely city of Rome is cooking up some new audio projects with fellow producers there.

About MAEL:
Longtime reggae fan and collecting underground music of all kind, Mael is known for always dropping surprising sets!
After hectic debuts on the Parisian scene, he moved to China in 2004 and proceeded to introduce all the music genres that attracted his ears: from Drum&bass to Breakbeat, through Reggae, Dub, and Funk, constantly juggling, wherever the crowds or his own mood were taking him, from Beijing or Shanghai’s biggest clubs to the most grimy bars !
Later infected by a fabulous sonic virus coming straight out of South London: Dubstep, an evil hybrid deriving from UK Garage that freely captures influences from Dub, Techno or Jungle music, Mael imposed himself as one of the rare ambassadors of this brand new sound in the East!
In 2006, Mael joined the Syndicate, a Beijing based bass music lovers gang! Together, with the team, he helped pushing the sounds of D&B and dubstep in the red capital and beyond. Faithfull to his roots, he also represents for the Cool & Deadly crew, a Parisian association of djs, mcs and vjs, spreading the good word of reggae, dub and dubstep in France.
Now back in Europe, Mael is tearing Rome appart, and concentrating on production with Youthman (former “Audio Unit”), his partner in crime…. Watch out!
