Michael Jackson’s final resting place will be a solid bronze, 14k Gold plated casket worth $25,000, featuring a plush blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish. The casket, called Promethean was ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company and is quite similar to the one used to bury soul singer James Brown. Jackson’s funeral will be held at the Staples Center
, the home of LA Lakers on the coming Tuesday.

The 16-Year-Old Girl Who Is Still A Baby

One 16-year-old girl, who will be the focus of a TLC documentary airing in August, hasn’t aged since toddlerhood. She has three sisters ages 22, 19 and 13 who all grew up perfectly normal. But Brooke Greenberg is literally a fountain of youth—she’s 16, but still a baby. She’s survived numerous medical mishaps including stomach ulcers, a brain seizure, a stroke, and a brain tumor that caused her to sleep for 14 days before waking up, just fine. When she was younger, her parents gave her growth hormone therapy for six months, to no avail––Brooke didn’t gain a ounce or grow an inch. She can’t talk and still has her baby teeth. Doctor’s aren’t at all sure why Brooke hasn’t aged. While this kind of freaks me out, medical experts believe that her DNA could unlock the key to aging. I just can’t believe it took 16 years before the entire world heard about her story.

The Fiat Cinque Tank, a dream bulldozer custom-built by ironsmith Kogoro Kurata, consists of an old Fiat 500 body mounted on the caterpillar tracks of a cheap secondhand tractor. The farm machine can only reach a speed of 3 kilometers per hour, turning a trip to the nearest convenience store into a 2-hour adventure, according to Kurata. But the classic look of the cabin no doubt impresses the neighbors, and the working power shovel comes in handy when obstacles block the way.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, sideshow carnivals known as misemono were a popular form of entertainment for the sophisticated residents of Edo (present-day Tokyo). The sideshows featured a myriad of educational and entertaining attractions designed to evoke a sense of wonder and satisfy a deep curiosity for the mysteries of life. One popular attraction was the pregnant doll.Although it is commonly believed that these dolls were created primarily to teach midwives how to deliver babies, evidence suggests they were also used for entertainment purposes.For example, records from 1864 describe a popular show in Tokyo’s Asakusa entertainment district that educated audiences about the human body. The show featured a pregnant doll whose abdomen could be opened to reveal fetal models depicting the various stages of prenatal development.Similarly, records of Japan’s first national industrial exhibition in 1877 indicate a Yamagata prefecture hospital doctor named Motoyoshi Hasegawa showed off an elaborate set of fetus models illustrating seven different stages of growth, from embryo to birth.Although it is unclear whether the fetus model set pictured here is the same one Hasegawa showed in 1877, records suggest his model was a hit at the exhibition.
