My favourite label at the moment is Curtom. Raw Funk.

Check my Curtis Mayfield thread in waffle.

And obviously stuff on Motown records. Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Four Tops etc were all on it.

The older it looks the better. No idea bout labels an artist just find shit thats old, most of it would have some heavy samples, if not vocals on for rippin/remixin.

i'm not pissed off at the fact i just gave away 5 dolla, i'm pissed off that i spent about an hour sat in a charity shop being harrassed by old ladies only to come home and find out the 5, yes, 5 7" records for £5 were completely shit and not soul, jazz or funk.

    fucking hell.

dont give up young digger.... there are plenty of gems out there waiting to be discovered

there are ways to "cheat" at digging.... old funk and soul compilations are a good bet, your unlikely to find anything too rare but you'll have a better chance of finding what your after

also 2nd hand record shops have alot better stuff than charity shops, only problem is, the people who work in them places usually know the good stuff and will stick higher prices on it
