i reckon there should be no set genre either, so everyone can join in, plus it will make it even more interesting. i think we should have a sample and something else thats set about the competition.. like maybe we could have these to use:
a sample
a bass note
an fx sound
a snare
or something like that, but different each week.. infact scrap each week thats too long, every 4 days?![]()

something like this on the dubstep forum, there's a random pack of sample (bass, snares, kicks, hats, etc) which you have to make a tune out of, you can use whatever you want to tweak them, but you're not allowed to use anything that isn't in the pack (vst's, extra snares etc,) there's been some surprisingly good creations.
