cubase problem

right just got a usb mic and want to use it in cubase now it works on wavelab and windows sound recorder but not on cubase
really need help on this

i dont use cubase or a pc for that matter, but i would have thought it would be in the preferences , or under audio in, or some thing along thoses lines
