well, doa is hosted in the usa, probably some broken link to the usa.

im not sure about the arena forum, where are they hosted? could just be dns problems.

I guess the re-launch was more of a crash-and-burn session. It's been down since yesterday for me.

i received the following email from DOA...

Hello Dogs,

Brian here.. (pigz)

We're sending this email out so that we give you guys a quick update whats happening.

About 9am EST on Friday we came under a Distributed Denial of Service attack.. You may remember about a year ago CNN and Yahoo and other major sites came under similar attacks and were down for a few days. We have been working with our provider in order to do everything we can to get DOA back up and running.. unfortunatly.. due to the nature of the attacks (spread among many computers and the random nature of the attack) and our hosting companies policy all incoming traffic to DOA is being blocked.

We are currently working with our hosting company, The FBI and all relavent agencies in resolving this matter fully. Let me be clear. The proper authorities ARE and WILL be persuing this matter to the full extent.

It's been around 28 hours since the attacks have started and while they have not ceased completely they have ceased substantially. Once our Service Provider deems it okay for us to put the server back up.. it'll come directly back online..

For those of you who have questions or might know some information of who may be behind this.. simply reply to this email and we will get back to you as quick as possible.

Thanks dogs for bearing with us and being so patient.. we may be down for the moment but we will be back..
