Logical Sessions Press Release

From 1995-2007 LTJ Bukem and the Logical movement have constantly pushed D&B into a new galaxy of sound, combining chilled atmospherics, sultry strings and crisp basslines all programmed at a slightly slower tempo.

Logical’s conception came from the passion and belief that a unique musical voice needed an uninhibited platform to express itself from. On the 21st December, Ministry of Sound is that platform, as LTJ Bukem returns for another instalment of the infamous Logical Progression Sessions. Collecting together some of the finest DJs of our time, within and beyond Drum and Bass, LTJ Bukem will be breathing full life into the distinctive sound he has called pioneered.

LTJ Bukem himself needs little introduction - Ground breaking DJ - Inspirational Musician - Record Label Entrepreneur (‘Good Looking’) - Club visionary (‘Speed’). This is the man who took the Drum&Bass concept from a small venue off London's Charing Cross Road and catapulted it onto the international stage, introducing ‘his’ advanced sound to the masses with the legendary Logical Progression parties. Now here in Ministry of Sound Bukem will be taking to the Box for a very special set, ably assisted by the lyrical twists of right hand man MC Conrad.

In the main room, alongside Bukem and serving up double proportions of rolling basslines and melodic Drum and Bass beats will be the Godfathers of D&B - Fabio and Grooverider. Both have been championing the underground sounds of Drum&Bass since 1991. Playing also will be Goldie –a man who has sat at the forefront of the D&B evolution with this METALHEADZ project, pioneering new styles and sounds for the D&B fraternity. With the lyrical talents of Moose, GQ, Five-O and MC Conrad binding it all together, expect serious magic in this the Logical Progression room.

In the Bar, we are excited to announce a takeover from mighty label Ninja Tunes. Expect ambient electronic beats, abstract hip-hop, instrumental hip hop, nu-jazz and more from The Herbalizer, Coldcut, DJ Food and James Mountain.

Looking forward, the Baby Box will be transformed into a Pre Sessions Room, occupied by a new generation of players who also have that deeper, more soulful sound running behind their productions and DJ sets. AI, Utah Jazz, DJ Furney and Zero Tolerance make up the line-up. All this will be perfectly complemented by Jazzy B & The Funky Dreds, keeping it cool in the Lounge.
