Recent downtime - new server coming!

Getting trouble accessing the site, server not responding. Happening quite often. Most recently between about 6.00 and to towards sorta 12ish. Is it me or is the server running red?

I wasn't going to post a thread up about this because I didn't want to bring any attention to the problem.

However, it seems we're under attack by some malicious hacker types who think it's fun to bombard our mail server with requests thus slowing the whole server to a grinding halt.

I'm currently in the process of reviewing our options at the moment so I'm not sure what I can do to give you 100% uptime as yet, but rest assured I'm working on it.

Damn, no need to apologies ... what a bunch of wankers!! I always like to check when I get up.

I have started noticing the problem, only recently though. Hope you can get it sorted, because I'm sure it's taking a big tool on amount of post, only 12 by midday usually about 30 at that time and I have usually checked about 3-4 times by then hence resetting the post cost.

It seems we suffered a similar attack late last night which lasted through to today. I've had enough of our current server house now and I'm seriously looking at other options. Hopefully I'll be able to move the site to a new server within the next week if all goes well.

loads of forums get hacked most hackers use a programme that will appear on ur server just look on the server for a something that should't b there then boot it off it will appear as 'brute' of something like that on the server, make sure sue the hacker aswell.

yeah i tried all afternoon to get on my computer kept saying dnbforum didnt exist, i thought it mustve been lost somewhere deep in the interweb jungle, you know, eaten by piranhas or something...
