So somewhat of an "Upgrade" for me...
After having the 900 for 2 months I ended up deciding I wanted to sell it and upgrade it to a 2000 to accompany my other 2.
The main problem for me was the screen really, after having getting used to the 2000's massive colour screen/waveform display, looking at the 900 in comparison made life a little difficult to fully see all I needed to see properly as it felt some what limited.
I use an external USB HD and have "long" names for my tracks inc artist, track name, label, key etc so having it on the 900 on screen display compaired to the 2000, it just seems too "small" to display all that information and scrolling indefinitly on screen with all the track info. Trying to locate tracks after using the other 2 2000s started becoming tedious for me and started making me waste time searching through my HD. (Yes you could say rename or reorganise my music perhaps but it works on the other 2000s nicely and its what i've become used to so it was some what a bit of a of a set back
)
I mix Drum and Bass so dont really have any need for looping really that the 900 offers as well as the slip mode really. Hotcues are far more useful for me then the looping features of the 900s however it depends on what your mixing really, but for me I needed quickness, and it just felt like the 900 was slowing me down on that 3rd mix.
I will say this though, if i'd gone for 900s originally and got a 3 of them and never used a 2000 id say there were awesome decks and far better then the CDJ1000 MK3s I had prior to getting the 2 2000s I have now so to anyone thinking of getting 900s, definitly do they're an awesome CDJ.
However after deliberating the above, I decided to make the plunge, sold the 900 on friday night, put a little bit extra cash toward it and got a 3rd 2000 last night, I'm far happier now, had a mix and everything felt so natuaral again.
Cannot complain, just need to get my 1210s back off my mate and the tabletop wont look as bare! haha...
