With T-FREE-3EP007 and T-FREE013, some more fresh faces enter the arena:
Paranoise Optimal from Poland is a total Newcomer, and with his debut on T-FREE
he shows the world his talent for the first time. Salamandra (from Noize Draft)
and Fading Suns have already released tunes on russian labels Respect Family,
TAM, SHUM and Road Block, but are still relatively unknown outside of Russia.

T-FREE014 and T-FREE-3EP008 bring another new name and a well known name:
Malsum are two newcomers from Spain who have had no releases yet, while
Typecell has been away from the Drum & Bass scene for more than half a year
and now returns with a 3-EP on T-FREE showing his deeper musical side
and that he had not been sleeping during all this time, appearently.

All the free tunes etc are great but how do you save them so they're not just the little clicky thing with the grey bar that you go to when you click the link. cant you play them on wmp/ put them on an mp3 player etc?

sounds like a browser-dependant phenomenon (sorry for the wrong spelling). if you take the url (rightmouseclick "copy url") and paste it into winamp, there should be no problem.
but you are right: i could make an .m3u file for winamp users as alternative to downloading... brb :D

After the traffic quota forced us to take it easy for some time, here is
the T-FREE-3EP009 with three untitled tunes from 2002 by MRX, a guy who
did produce Drum & Bass for quite some time but never had a release.

DJ Tectonic aka Materia aka Hidden Lab from Sweden should be
known already, at least because of his release on Kinematic320.
He has a very unique sound between athmospheric dnb and neurofunk.

T-FREE-3EP011 brings three older pieces by renowned Pyro from Denmark,
who has contributed to the scene with his very own, subtle sound since 2000.

Pyro - "Crossworld"
Pyro - "Antimatter"
Pyro - "The Outer Rings"

...I will not post direct download links into the thread anymore,
BECAUSE the mirrors could change. But they are correct on the website.
You don't have to fight against flash-banners n shit, you just need to
click on --> http://www.tilt-recordings.com/t-free/mp3eps.htm
and directly there are the plain download links, without any obstacles.

DNB was formed on the premise that Acid House already laid out which is to rip off other peoples tracks to make new ones. The fact that you state at the top of the thread that one can not edit them must be a Spinal Tap moment (taking the piss, or dry british humor).

Another thing I could never understand is why dance records say on them "you may not broadcast." If anyone actually listened to this warning, no dj would buy the record in the first place since the whole reason for the track being on a record is to broadcast them in a club or on the radio. I never understood that.

You know, I could go on about this all day.

Heres a great example:

Land Lord "I Like It"

Now I don't know if this was a very popular Acid House track when it came out or not. I didn't even know this track in its original form or by name for the longest time yet I had already heard it many times from all the tracks that sampled it.

I imagine for those who heard the first time around knew of it, and when all these countless tracks came out that sampled, it was probably an amazing thing to hear. Mainly because nearly every time it was sampled the energy level of the riff was taken to the next level (the original track was quite mellow). Also tracks didn't just sample one small cord from "I like it", they sampled the whole entire riff. That one that goes

Da Da Da Dadada
Dit Dit Da Dadada

I imagine when a track that rips it off is played at an event, that person who knows it would just explode with joy. Like as if a good old friend had come to visit, this land lord riff was the shit.

Now if it wasn't for this mentality of ripping off other tracks, so many great tracks wouldn't have been made.

The same can be said for all the countless tracks that ripped off Second Phase "Mentasm". Hell the whole entire Darkside 1993 style wouldn't have been the same if they weren't ripping off Mentasm!

Something that I still don't understand is this nu-dnb mentality that ripping off other peoples tracks is forbidden. I remember back when I was using DOA there was this thread about how terrible it was that an L-Plates record was ripping off Dillinja's "Angels Fell" I was like WTF IS THIS ABOUT?!?!?! Then there was another time when I had a strange email dialog with Brian "Bizzy B" Johnson where I was telling him about how Dylan used his "Dubplate" riff in a new school 'ardkore dnb track. Brian went balistic, I thought he was joking but I think he was actually serious. This coming from a guy who is NO STRANGER to ripping off other peoples tracks! Fucking Weird!

DnB deffinetly has its head up its ass way too far, I think its forgotten about how it became what it is in the first place.

Also, If I had a record out, and someone sampled it to make something new, I would be deeply honored because this is the tradition of electronic dance music and crap music doesn't get sampled.

please hold your rant in another thread

using fragments and samples for other tunes is something else than putting a vocal into a tune and not declaring it in the tracklist as a different tune, you see?
also you are barking at the wrong tree. go hate on labels like renegade hardware, they actually deserve it!
neither tilt tunes nor t-free tunes are not free to play... EVERYBODY MAY PLAY THEM EVERYWHERE AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE, AND RIAA CAN FUCK THEMSELVES!!!
we are not your enemy, old man ;)

I agree with that, I don't think thats what you were saying though was it?

I already do dislike them for the phase they entered when they released the Earth EP. I stopped purchasing RH after that EP, before that I was an extremely loyal customer.

Nah m8, that wasn't directed at you, that was a very general rant.

BTW: cheers for posting the mp3s. I tend to complain more then praise at times. ;)

320kbps mp3s. Now I really need a new HD. I might go shopping for one tomorrow then.
