Sorta a question and a bit of info. Did you know that most musical instruments are tuned to 440hz, but synths are tuned to 444 hz ?? Worth bearing in mind when using samples of musical instruments....
And here's the question. What are 'Cents' (not money) but when you see tuning on a sampler its in cents. And how do they relate to notes. So for instance if I want to change tuning from 440 to 444 how would I know ?
Also if I wanted to move a note up 1 note ( there being 12 notes including sharps/flats in an octave) ?

cents mean percent so -1 cent would get you to 440 hz. possibly anyway, both notes and math are rather alien to me.

i thought cents are based on the notes, like 100 cents would be a half note change ie. from c to c#
