Also - When using this preset, hold multiple key chords...for example: Hold a F#m chord over 2 octaves (6 notes in total) This should help get the effect...
I tend to use arpeggio to refer to the actual notes played in which order ( root, third, fifth, octave etc cause I'm a pianist and I have to play scales and arpeggios in my exams), and 'arp' to talk about a type of synth patch that plays an arpeggio when you hold down one note.
Get an arpeggiator MIDI plugin, set to up pattern over two octaves and hold a chord.
Try using 16th triplets as timing for the arpeggiator, with short note length.
