I like this because unlike 90% of jump up now days, this actually has hi hats or some sort of cymbal.

eh?

post one jump up tune from the past year that doesn't have hi hats.

in fact post any jump up tune that doesn't...

He's got a point. Loads of the new stuff is that steppy stuff with big clap snares and no shuffle or breaks tying them together. Just a really rigid kick-snare groove. So of course pretty much any tune has hi hats, but a lot of this popular new jump up stuff sounds like it doesn't.

lol, how does he have a point

that makes no more sense than saying if it's not raining then there can't be any clouds in the sky

jump up has got more stripped down and steppier lately, agreed.

but if there's hi-hats and cymbals, then.....there's hi hats and cymbals :mkay:

Most of the new jump up doesn't roll at all, there is percussion there obviously but it doesn't add momentum. It's stuttery.

yeah. and that's exactly that's what he should've said. instead of saying 90% of new jump up doesn't have hi hats and cymbals. because that's wrong.

right then, glad we cleared that up!

Great to see Dom finally getting the recognition he deserves!
