New carts + headshell. Do I need the 4g weight?

My M447's + headshells arrived today (4 for price of 2, thanks ebay!) Just wandering if I need the 4g weight that came attached?

And also if it's as fiddly as it seems to connect the bastards together?!
 
I depends on how they track buddy, if you cant cue and the needle jumps around then you need them. If it sits tight without then you don't. The carts should come with a setup guide explaining this ;)
 
All good cheers chaps. Just got them sitting perfectly.

I really need to stop doing this... ask a million questions before cracking on with it only to find they are a piece of piss haha.

Buzzing I managed to sneak 4x Shure m447's + headshells for £80. Thank you very much Japanese ebay dude!
 
just been setting mine up again,

do you guys use headshell weights ? i realized i had them on ever since i`ve been using decks, but its kinda the same ( terrible thing ) as a coin on top isnt it ? might remove them-
 
Anyone? maybe if mention andy c a couple of times i can generate some more replies, andy c init andy andy andy matt dale
 
Don't have the link saved but pretty sure when I set mine up I read it was not a good thing to use the extra headshell weights.
