dBridge - My Nights Sky

He wasn't sure if he was gonna put Another World VIP on it back in January on the aptitude show...has he confirmed it will be now?

Advanced drum & bass.

When we spoke to him for an edition of Machine Love in 2011, we made the point that Darren White's career has been one of distinct chapters. Two years on, and we may not have had the seismic shifts such as those between his Future Forces Inc, Bad Company or Autonomic phases, but White has continued his tireless pursuit of innovation. In Chic Anatomy / Den-En-Toshi and Passing Encounter / Scarlett he began exploring straight 4/4 for the first time, passing Drexciyan electro and tense techno as he did so. Meanwhile his label, Exit Records, has issued some seriously far-out club forms in the last 12 months. There's been Dawn Day Night's raucous jungle/juke hybrids, FIS's blackened off-the-grid rhythms, and Om Unit and Sam Binga's unlikely marriage of drum & bass and boogie.

Exit is as much the star as D-Bridge on RA.358. The mix is comprised mainly of unreleased tracks from the label, much of it lifted from the follow-up to the excellent Mosaic Vol. 1 compilation.

What have you been up to recently?

I've mainly been in the studio, working on my album.

How and where was the mix recorded?

I've got a DJ setup at home, so I did it there via my usual Serato setup.

Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

I've got a compilation coming soon, Mosaic Vol. 2, so I wanted to showcase a lot of forthcoming music on Exit Records.

You were scheduled to play your first set as Velvit this past New Year's. Will you be looking to do this more often in the future?

I hope so. I like to explore new things in music, and this is definitely that. I have a somewhat ignorance-is-bliss approach to it.

Where are some of your favourite places to play right now?

It's still Womb in Tokyo and Sun & Bass in Sardinia. More recently, Outlook and Dimensions have become memorable gigs.

What are you up to next?

Excited for the Exit Records party on the 12th of April at Fire and finally finishing my second LP this year.

Oh boi, that Kryptic Minds - Burnt to Ashes is ridiculous! Love pretty much every tune on that mix and if that is a sign of things to come this will be some 2 x copy business in the bag for sure

Machinedrum - The Palace (Exit Records)

Another one hopefully forthcoming on the V/A album. Futuristic jungle

I would think Synkro - The Way will be on there too. He's been sitting on that tune for almost 3 years. With the TL so far, this has to be one of the most impressive albums of all time. I would buy nearly every tune as a single.

Album has been mastered now so I'd expect next few months. :D

Another one confirmed:
ST Files - Eric Bristow (Exit)
