Big Grin Chase & Status - Flashing Lights Pad

Hi all, first post so please let me know if there's anything wrong with my post layout etc and I'll get it changed!

Basically, at the very intro of this song, there are some light pads alongside the guitar riff. They sound a bit like they are reversed or maybe sidechained and I'm not sure what effect it is but would love to know. Any thoughts/ suggestions would be wicked.

    The song: http://youtu.be/0L2M7Its9C4

    Cheers

I think you're spot on, it's a layering of a clean guitar sound (sounds like a fender or other singer coil guitar) along with a brassy-sounding pad that's been sidechained.
