Creatively, it died a long time ago.
Too manner aspiring grime artists are influenced by other artists within the same genre. The majority of the people I have met who make grime listen to grime and barely anything else.
Not many grime artists, especially in terms of production, have their own identity. Its rare that you hear a grime tune and you can tell who its by.
People need to stop trying to emulate the stuff that wiley did a few years ago.
Thats my two cents.

I think it's safe to say that grime is still alive, though in my opinion not well.
Grime is more hip hop based now, but I guess music has to evolve and if people truly like it they'll evolve with it.
