    Soft synth for dark atmospheres

Hi I'm after a soft synth that creates dark atmospheres and sounds.. Any suggestions and price is not a concern.

    Thanks in advance.

Absynth is good for eerie textures. You can use it for granular sounds too. Otherwise I recommend the "Dark Skies" sample pack. Full of deep dark sounds.

Paulstretch is a free plugin for extreme time stretching (like 50 or 100 times slower). Turns basically anything into slowly evolving weird dark pads.

    Big up innovine.
Messing around with time stretch , pitch , reverbs etc is a great method for getting those eerie sounds!

    ^^ - great tips there!!

    Also try Synplant

    http://soniccharge.com/synplant/

    - I have been using it alot the past few months, mainly dedicated to sounddesign, strange dark sounds and also just for general fun The concept is very unique and it can be a technical as you like, depending on how much time you want to invest. What I mean with that is; The patches that come with it are already pretty amazing and with its plant like interface you can go crazy with branch automation. Although behind all that fun is a world of DNA synth programming which can take a few hours to get the hang off -->

Just go through a selection of synths, spend a few hours auditioning and pick the top 2 you like the sound of the most. Then use them consistently until you feel like you head with explode
