There isn't really any good djing in jump up, its just all selection. No real skill, hardly any mixing. And you get your Sly and Grooverider who really can't spin at all.

are serious? i pretty much only mix jump up and with enough know how/tune selection/and knowledge of such tunes you can do some wonderful shit... dd's cutting phasing replacing breaks and even getting a solid liquid roller and banging a heavy half step over it...

    check these as example>>>> http://soundcloud.com/djhepz/jordans-mix-jungle

I like it when jump-up dj's drop similar-sounding tunes with the same starting note(s). SKills.

Don't make too much long silent parts when playing jump-up. It's better to go for a couple longer silent parts in ur sets.

Try keeping it interesting: if you know the tracks inside out, you can really play with them and tease the fuck out of the tracks.

Try switching styles: change bizzy-souding tracks with more minimal-jumpup tracks, doubledrop them, etc..

    Hope some of this helps!
