    youre supposed to sprawl with your back arched your neck back facing the sky when you deploy but that because of the initial jerk, like twannng when the parachute gets wind, if you face down you can be knocked unconscious or break something if youre not in sprawl position. i think its hilarious that he survived, the russians might not have a long life expectancy but they are not easily killed
