Host one, I'll be up for a scotch egg and some horn pipe music, heck ill wear my crazy t-shirt with added chevron action flash graphics
sounds like its pimms o clock!
An ugly building full of hotels and restaurants which the average Londoner won't get to go near, owned by foreign investment firms, in an area which suffers from shit housing.
Funny contrast with the Gherkin - Londoners seem to like it more (?), it looks cooler and not so out of place.
Monolithic skylines look good from a distance with the lights on, London is awesome because of the street space. The Shard is the exact oposite of street space.
you think thats bad?
what the fuck is this
honestly the worst piece of shit i have ever seen

The Shard is has some magnificant angles on it, the way it reflects the evening sun on its shiny facades is an absolute triumph imo, captures the spectrum of heavy orange to the dark blue - so much for interesting than the grid of boxes in new york (not to say they dont have some nice ones). it might be foreign money but at the same time we're benefiting from it. it does look a bit out of place but perhaps that's why it is 'the shard', a random splinter protruding from the old city. as for people saying the london skyline isn't great, it might not be the tallest but it's got some of the finest buildings in the world there imo (thinking neo/classical). I don't agree with all this chasing the highest skyscraper though.
anybody watch the documentary on the BBC about it? was a bit dissapointed tbh it was rediculously oversexed up and way to action movie.

indeed everybody loves the gherkin but in my opinion it's a big phallic symbol of Foster fucking his way to the stirling prize showing HE DA MAAAAAN. the inside of it is equally as dull as the shard and doesn't show any of his younger ambition to create spaces that induce productivity and well-being in the work place
