It really is not as easy as people are making out to get a job atm. I was unemployed for almost a year when I got made redundant and I looked EVERY SINGLE DAY for a job and applied for shit loads of things including things I have never done or had no interest in doing before! I eventually got a part time job and I am still looking for work because I can't to afford to live on a part time wage!!!! Yeh there are some lazy fuckers out there that rufuse to work but to say everyone on benefits is scum or are scroungers is a very cuntish thing to say imo!! One day you might be one of these so called scum bags without a job and lets see if you are stood in the fuckin dole queue

in all honesty, if they turned round to me and said, here's some work, it's shitty, but you'll be earning a bit more than you are on JSA, i'd leap at the opportunity. And we get £112 once a fortnight, half of which goes to my mum and the rest just about covers my tobacco, travel and maybe a night out stealing drinks on the sly if i'm lucky.

I personally think this thread is prime cut evidence as to how the system has brainwashed us all into resenting each other instead of taking the problem to the top. I understand there is scum standing in a dole que and I hate them as much as the next guy but that's not going to change. Dol wit it. The country fucked itself when they inadvertantly voted in Cameron and his little bitchboy Clegg. A 'coalition.' It all seemed to mean something during the election. Doesn't matter now. The lower classes are fucked because the cunting Tories are in and there's nothing we can do about it short of having a revolution. It's not going to change until the next election so, as lazy as it is, I'm gonna rest on my laurels and work until I find a new/better job or I get fired. I'm gonna ride the shit ridden wave like everyone else. I'm not an activist trying to fight for change. I'm too lazy to be one. Does that make me as bad as the people who are too lazy to get a job? If I become unemployed, I'm gonna look for a job ASAP because I'm too proud to be on the dole. Some people aren't. Shit happens.

They qualify for working tax credit if they work more than 16 hours a week, and they can childcare for up to...errr...not sure it's been ages since I've been involved in benefits. They boot single mums off income support once the kid reaches 7. Used to be 14 back in the day. HTH.

Haven't really been following this thread but it takes a very special...and in my experience very driven sort of person to raise a family on their own and hold down a job/get a degree. Even then they have to be very lucky with the temperament of the child. The amount of young tearaways I've seen punching their poor mums (boys obviously) coz they don't have the inner strength to dominate that child is unbelievable. It definitely takes more than one to raise a child unless it's placid and respectful. Which is fairly rare.

I'm only guessing here but I suspect we've evolved to communally rear our young (a bit like gorillas) with all the mums living together. That way the better mothers could take over a bit at times and generally improve standards. Would make things alot easier. Not sure how much involvement men are really supposed to have with their kids. This might explain why so many fathers cba with their kids or even end up hating them.
