Ok, try having a kid at 16, the father pussying out and moving to wales, while the people in charge fail to notice that the father should have been paying child support, until that kid turned 16, by which point is 16 years too late. And if you wanted to work during the few years that kid isn't in school, you have to pay a child minder which would cost more per hour than you'd be making. And even then, when that kid is actually old enough to go to school, you still can't be earning a full time wage, until that kid old enough to make his way home on his own and sort out his own dinner.

Not to mention, that even with those benefits coming in, you're still going to be struggling to make ends meet.

But y'know, the daily mail tell us that those with a council house and kids getting free school dinners are living a richer life than the lower middle class, and they sure do know what they are talking about.

Sorry to say it mate. But thats your mums problem. She should have made sure she got it. Dont take offence. But thats the way it is. 1 thing everyone should leanr in life is not to depend on anyone else... do it yourself... if your pops wasnt paying up.... and your mum deserved the money... its up to her to make sure she gets it... whether its through courts... or general hassling. I went down the job centre when I quit my job last month to claim jobseekers. What fucked me off more than the lowlifes in there was the easygoing attitude of the staff in there. No one gave a fuck. All seemed like a bit of a laugh to them. Theres no motivation to find work at the moment. The system is way too easy to exploit. I went down there in my suit as I had an interview that same day after my meeting. She came in and a had a real surprised face on her, and 'couldn't believe how smart I looked'. She started giving me pointers on how to exagurate my circumstances to make me eligible. It's bullshit.

Mate... its not up to the job center to find you a job. Its up to you!!! Its people like you that really fukin wind me up!! get off your ass and find it yourself!

The jobcentre has a database of potential jobs for you to apply for...it's up to you to find something suitable. The staff aren't there to babysit you while you look jobs up. It's one of those things if you actually start trying to 'help' people they'll end up expecting you to tie their shoe laces for them. That's how 'the public' is and it's why so many people in public service develop a hatchet-faced don't bother me sort of look...so people don't abuse them with their lazy-arsed fecklessness.

It's not easy for single mums armed I don't think anyone said it is. One thing though...it's not down to 'the people in charge' to notice something they couldn't possibly be aware of. Why didn't your mum chase the CSA up? If she opened a case with them in the past they might still be able to backdate..

Im all for working the system if you can, but what made me angry is 3 months after i first signed on, i had a job, and went back to paying ridiculous amounts of tax for the people who are still there, queuing up every week to get their money with no intention of getting a job.

Its far too easy to get on job seekers allowance. They dont even need proof your actively looking.

I went in the first week with about 30 printouts of job application forms id filled out and emails i'd sent. They didnt give a shit.

They are essentially a bank. You go there with your little account number (National Issurance Number)... they check to see if you have been looking for a job (which most of the time the actual "checking" bit is very minimal) and they sign you off to get you money.

What they should really be doing is saying... well... you have been unemployed for a year.... heres your job... you start on Monday.... you will be scrubbing graffiti off the walls untill you bother to get yourslef a real job you lazy fuck... oh.... and the wage!!?? yeh thats £128 every 2 weeks.

when youre all cushy and comfy with your job and your living situation and it all feels impossible that itll ever change and its even a tad boring with the job day in and day out and the flat with the girl whos sex has gotten boring aaages ago, then its like these people with no job should all be bunched up and shot, but once disaster strikes and youre on the unempolyment... queue or dole or whatever the island word is, situation changes drastically

looking for a job is not a full time job, most people look for a job whilst working another job (job), so essentially paying people not to work so they can look for work is BULLSHIT! give them a few hours community service type jobs (something that will benefit the country) a week... this will help people out of work for a long time get back into the groove of working, and give them a sense of genuine entitlement to that delicous hand out.

Yeh i comepletely understand. Ive been in that situation... but its easy to fall in the proverbial pit and get into the attitude that everyone is against you... and that the "system" isnt helping... and that theres no jobs... blah blah blah... its all bullshit.... its hard to find one that you want! of course!! but there are jobs out there for everyone.... you just might not like it.... but thats just the way it is..... and like i said before... I was unemployed for just over a year once...... I was made redundant from work.... and quiet simply... i couldnt be bothered to go back to work... I prefered to sit on my ass and get my £128 every 2 weeks and smoke it all away. And thats EXACTLY what 90% of the cunts in english job centers are doing. If the Job Center said to me.... well... if you are out of work for another 2 months... we will give you a job scrubbing walls or cleaning bins or whatever.... I am damn sure i would have got off my ass and looked for a job sooner.

Yeh! i was being a bit extreme. haha. But yeh.. completely agree. When people are out of work for so long its harder to get back into it... whether its fear of starting a new job or just simple lazyness... giving them something to do exactly what they need.

They did try here for a while though!!?? But they made you work in Sainsburys... or what ever. But allowing private companies to profit from the unemployed is wrong... they should have had them out doing community some kind of community work like you said.....

oh yeah nigga im bout to raise on up and straight get me a new job im not going to sit on nobodys ass and not do nothing, and ill tell you why. cos im too proud. i cant be in no call center, im fucking 46 years old, and been saying this for three long years now. my friends see me in a call center i have some dick sucking to do. but chances are ill wind up in one. doing that same old bullshit. fuck.
