Kicking off with a monster of a tune we have Japans finest, Heavy1. ‘False Color Image’ opens up with a rather sinister string, holding the listeners attention before grabbing them with a drop of epic proportions. A rugged two step kick and snare bring the energy straight to the forefront for the listener, whilst the bassline digs deep, revealing a booming 808 hitting every four bars. The percussion is tight and the edits are slick, and with heavy rotational play from the likes of Icicle, Friction, Makoto and Lenzman, to name just a few, this beast is sure to do serious damage on the dancefloor!
Dutch duo Mindmapper & Fre4knc step up to the table bringing a hypnotic flavour to the flip side of the release.
‘Dictionary of Dreams’ kicks in with a rolling two step beat that builds the tune up before a gargantuan drop reveals itself unexpectedly. The bassline is welcomed and adds a groove to the tune which without doubt will keep heads nodding! Fx snippets and clever edits are used whilst subtle distorted stabs are perfectly placed throughout the whole tune. The added roll takes it that one step further and injects a pace that livens up any set. A delightful piece of future drum & bass funk which remains a favorite of DJs Fabio, Kasra, Ant TC1, Skeptical and Alix Perez, amongst others.
Dust Audio is a brand new drum & bass label established by long time DJ and production duo Slider & Expose. The label sets out to develop and nurture up and coming raw talent alongside the more established artists within the scene. Dust Audio has a specific aim: to push the most upfront music possible whilst still retaining shelf life way beyond the release date. The policy is quality controlled music that cannot only move a dancefloor but can also prick into the listener’s consciousness, delivering something more than the often disposable output of everyday production.
Monumental basslines, Robotic funk, Emotive and intelligent cutting edge production.
