    StuSmith's - A look back at 2011...with added filler. 100% Vinyl.

Easy all! Happy New Year to all the forum!

Been meaning to post a mix with some favourites of mine from 2011. I got a bit sidetracked and this is what i've come up with
Obviously a few aren't from this year in the TL, but just felt a bit too restricted to keep it to all records released this year.
This wasn't particularly planned out so there are parts I'm not too happy with, but thought I'd post it regardless.

Tunes like Footloose & Cloak & Dagger & so many others should have been in this mix too, but annoyingly forgot about them at the time! oh well...

TL & Soundcloud link are as below. Enjoy, and please feel free to leave any comments/feedbacks/ramblings if you be so kind
If anyone wants a dnbshare link just let me know and I'll up it there.

    Peace.

    > tesla - niiice
    > surface - not a huge fan of this track in all fairness, well mixed in tho

    > headlock - track is pretty rough, maybe slightly too loud but ignore me im being pedantic
    > hot hands - love this track

    > catch 22 - here we gooo, still such a ridiculous track
    > the shroud - never heard this one before, goes in. another one to add to the shopping basket methinks

ridiculously tight mix stu, serious vibes in there. mixing is super clean, selection is big, and considering you say this isn't that planned some of the blends are really well thought out, its nice when people know the tracks well enough to know its structure etc. what more can i say really, get on this people!

ahh kind words as always jack!
as you've spotted the gains are a little out on some of the mixes, probably due to it being unplanned...was just one of those plug in and go kind of things!
selection was certainly random...loads of tunes in there I never draw for.

big ups for the feedback mate, this is exactly why I put out mixes... to try and improve on the mistakes!
Cheers for checking once again mate...still banging out Midnight Maneuvers btw! big vibes!!

    Re: StuSmith's - A look back at 2011...with added filler. 100% Vinyl.

Wikaman & R.V - Ev's Dead [RAM] - Big tune, nice for the intro actually
Sato - Detroit Lies Bleeding (Phobia Remix) [Ingredients] - nice blend, like the way the mids from ev still came through clearly. DLB bassline worked well too
Noisia - Block Control [Moving Shadow] - nice double, i find block control always sounds quiet in the mix though, bass didn't really come through enough and lost the impact a little
    >>Fierce & Vicious Circle - Feedback [Quarantine] - nice tease, worked well together, though block control needed to be a little louder on the mids
Ulterior Motive - Tesla [Subtitles UK] nice, love this tune, wanted it in mine but ran out of space,
S.P.Y & Kasra - Surface [Critical] good mix man, tight as and love the way the little bits from tesla peek through the mix without overpowering it
Hybris - Please Exist [Metalheadz] niice, proper tune this one, mix was top, sounded good bringing surface back in after a couple of bars, gave the vocals time to shine
Icicle - Arrows [Shogun] really good mix, before it even came in i was imagining it sounding good and it defo didn't disappoint, wanted a bit more vocal though
Mortem - The Touch [I:M LTD] why do i not own this tune?
Spectrasoul - Organiser [Critical] sick little mix, loved it when the vocals came back in, lovely
Spinline - Dyslexia [Horizons] nice mix, clean as a whistle
Amoss - Splitface [Horizons] nice, never really play this tune as i rinse the flip so much. nice mix though,
Noisia - Brainstitch [Shogun] hench, overpowered splitface a little too much but big tune so doesn't really matter
Ulterior Motive - Seven Segments [Subtitles UK] - sick sick sick, loved the way brainstitch came through and really carried the energy with the rolling drums
Foreign Concept & Kasra - Show You [Critical] rolling
Logistics - Repetition [Hospital] nice mix, never heard this tune before, really deep vibe
Vicious Circle - Last Chance Saloon [Commercial Suicide] again another solid mix, thought it sounded a little sharp coming in but that could have been me
Nymfo - Recollection [Dispatch] sorry was cooking sausages here
Amoss - Locked In [Inside Recordings] yes good again, like this tune a lot.
    >>Origin Unknown - Lunar Bass (Commix Remix) [RAM] BIG, worked really well together mids sat perfectly: very swish
Rene Lavice - Headlock [RAM] big tune, needed locked in to be a bit louder headlock was a fair bit louder, maybe the tunes were mastered differently
Marcus Intalex - Hot Hands [Soul:r] nice tune but felt it lost the energy you had going before, didn't really fit with the prior vibe
Dub Phizix & Skeptical - Marka [Exit] i understand hot hands now, nice mix, sounds good
Triad & Synth Sense - Past Present Future [Horizons] yes when this kicked in with marka sounded large, nice (finding marka mixes is a skill in itself)
Skeptical - Catch 22 [Ingredients] nice
Breakage - The Shroud [Digital Soundboy] never heard this before proper vibes

overall a really nice mix man, sorry for the slightly haphazard feedback, was trying to multitask after waking up
big tunes and some big mixes thrown in - really enjoyed it
