Tap Ho' bass sound - how to?

I hate making these threads as i feel the sounds are quite easy to do but i cant do em haha

I've tried maybe a notch filter with plenty of res on a low octave saw but cant get the 'speed' in the sound, it just sounds slow.

Any ideas?
 
Hmmm i am not pro but that sound like saw wave +1 octave,bandpased,little drive,and portamento..of course if you mean that squelchy sound..

I saw a vid on youtube of TC making some bass sounds and he was using hardware. Looked like an old moog or an access virus type bit of kit. I used to use hardware for a couple of years before going back to software and you do get a completely different sound so I expect that is partly why is is so difficult to reproduce with VST's etc
