SKISM INTERVIEW

We caught up with Never Say Die label boss - SkisM ahead of our forthcoming party at Cable. Here's what he had to say.

Idiosynphonic: What’s up Skism? Cheers for taking 5 minutes to answer our questions. So, pretty easy one to start with. What got you into making Dubstep?

Skism: Experimenting really, I’d been releasing music for years, but In early 2009, i started hearing what was possible in the genre when I first heard stuff from the likes of Reso & Nero. I made ‘The Blank’ and the rest is history!

What equipment/software did you use to start making music?

I’ve always used Logic and probably always will.

What is your biggest Fear?

Going Deaf (Which I think I am!)

If you could pick a song from any genre that you wish you’d written what would it be and why?

Slade – Merry Christmas Everybody. Think of the yearly PRS cheques on that bitch!

If you could do a collaboration with anybody, living or dead, who would it be with ?

Would love to get Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine on a Dubstep flex.

Name a record label you would like to record on?

My own label Never Say Die, because we do shit properly. Other than that, be cool to have something out on one of the seminal dnb labels that I adored growing up, like Ram or Virus.

Which city would you most like to play in and why?

Tokyo, because its one of the few that I haven’t been to!

What are your plans for the next year?

Lots of touring, putting lots of awesome tunes by awesome people out on Never Say Die, and hopefully getting some time in the studio to work on my own stuff (which is really hard to do when the first two things take up so much time!)

And finally, if Idiosynphonic were to book your dream dance music line up who would you have on it and why?

Just a load of my mates because I hardly get to see any……oh wait, you’ve already done that, roll on June 3rd!

You can catch Skism alongside Bar9, Funtcase and loads more on the 3rd of June at Cable, London.

Tickets are available here: http://www.skiddle.com/events/11459206/
