One shot stabs in massive

hey guys. I know you can use the envelope on the filter to get a one shot stab in massive but i don't get any results with it or im just using it wrong so any ways to get a nice one shot stab in massive.

some examples are



the very first bass sound that its a very quick growl



yatz - gunfight 1:17 right before the sound thats opening up slowly its doing a quick stab.

so mostly what are some ways to accomplish this in massive

You can use a performer lfo with just one whomp at the start.

But envelopes are the best way. Summit like this.



tbh those examples sound like they're just cut out or retriggered lfo.

i was thinking they were retriggered lfos but someone told me use envelopes and now i see an example so ima try it now thank you

2 quick questions. why did you but the envelope on the sc box instead of the other boxes and in massive i can get a nice sounding stab but does anyone know anyway on how to make it like have more growl to it

To be honest I've never though about what those boxes mean but now I read SC is sidechain so you should probably use one of the other two.

For growl you should get yourself a nice distortion unit plugin. I personally use Ohmicide.

all i have is camel crusher and logics plugins but is camel crusher good enough since it has a saturation distortion

i just use my midi keyboard with massive to make single stabs.

logics got some great plugins. I've seen videos of Xample & Lomax, Reso etc. all using them, check out some computer music videos
