yeah i had a similar experience, saw them at v fest over the summer, and it was just a bunch of prats in the crowd, trying to create massive mosh pits and jumping into people (because its a festival there were lots of younger ones there like 12 -14 with parents etc and you get some 16/17 year olds flying into them) and shit like that. Some of the stuff they played was alrite, but the as with lots of things the crowd can make or break it, and most of the crowd were a bunch of twats.
I got to see 2manydjs after who absolutely smashed it so that made up for it
Still should be alrite if its your thing.

Thats where i see them at the Chelmsford site, it was a like how you described it too but there wasn't any youngsters where we was thankfully.
We had a bunch of pricks in front of us though doing what you said and chucking pints of piss...cunts.
Other then that it was all good.......High Contrast the next night pissed all over them though!
Atmosphere will be good no doubt, don't mind an El Hornet DJ set, but the 2 times i've seen them live, I didn't like it.
Technically they're tight as fuck & the stageshow/production was awesome, but in all honesty & all down to personal taste admittedley, i'd rather take a swim back up my Mohters Fallopean Tubes than listen to that tripe.
2nd time I saw them, Rodigan & Coxsone Dodd came on straight after them & blew them out of the water with one tune.

Best live performance Pendulum ever did was the first time they played at Fabric and Jakes hosted. They did Another Planet, Fasten Your Seatbelt and Slam. Sick show

i care about my shoes :( my crisp white DCs were fooked after that, i thought i was going to see a dj set, not a sodding live band with 100 guitars!:?:rinsed:

Fair comment, but you'l learn not to wear your new shoes to see pendulum :D
I remember coming out and I was a state, beer all over me, shirt was muddy somehow and my shoes were fuked. Like being at a hippy rave or summit! :) had a good'n tho so cant complain!

Meh
Fantastic.
Saw Pendulum once at Battle of the MC's quite a few years back, weren't that bad either. But all the guitar etc etc stuff isn't up my street. Reminds me of having to see 'TC Live' @ Ministry a couple of years back....haven't laughed that hard for a while.

Saw them at nass last year, wasn't bad to watch but got a bit boring after a while. Seen much better live bands.
Their live shows are amazing! Saw them in Llandudno December last year, and gonna see their Cardiff show in May! This tour coincides with the release of "Immersion" too.
Edit: "Subfocus live"....DJ set or live? Hmmm....
supporting slipknot.... blimey, that is a far reach from the pop-n-bass image i remember them for.
Review of last night's show that kind of gets into how they became a metal band.... http://www.theartsdesk.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=2704:pendulum-wembley-arena-review&Itemid=27
For many, as the drum'n'bass scene lost touch with its early 1990s roots in London's black music community, the description of its increasingly unfunky beats as resembling heavy metal was considered an insult. But Pendulum seized on this similarity, and noting the way that electronic acts like The Prodigy and Nine Inch Nails were connecting to rock audiences worldwide, they crafted a sound that has become more popular than pretty much any of their drum'n'bass contemporaries.
Do people still actually listen to Pendulum ?

They're pure poison...
They are clearly sophisticated musicians, but in every track, Pendulum are about pressing every possible button to get adrenalin flowing. This is the music the Futurists dreamed of. Their cover version of The Prodigy's “Voodoo People” (a track they remixed in 2005) sums it up: every synth sound - played by Rob Swire (pictured left) on a synth/guitar hybrid - is like a klaxon, every bass note an explosion, every drum rhythm a collective panic attack.
god. fuck off.

its not metal. its pop music. ok? ok.
why are noobs bumping old threads. especially pendulum threads. urgh.
pendulum are rat shit. bit of a tarnish on an otherwise fantastic perth dnb scene. of course hold your colour had some AMAZING liquid tunes on it (still grey, girl in the fire, sounds of life etc.), but that just adds to the frustration of anyone who experienced them getting worse and worse and worse.
the only good song on that new album is the in flames colab, which pretty much sums up that they are a metal/pop band.

you define In Flames as being "metal/pop"? pretty wide spectrum of musical genres there

I doubt it, all the Hatebreed and Devil Driver fans wouldve left the arena by then.
