Only 4 teams will go thru to Round 3. If any of you do not have all genres, please pm me because you cannot go on to round 3.
Judging will be going on this way:

* done by judges | Collaboration & Creativity: out of 3
* done by chloe | Involvement: out of 1
either your involved or you not.
* done by chloe | Following Rules: out of 3
worth more points now, so people take this more seriously.
Judging ends of the 14th, but id like the judges to please give me their results asap, please dont leave it to the last minute.

September to mid October's Competition
Right so before you all read this and go im confused, it doesnt make sense. This competition is a work in progress and for the first time i will not have planned out rules for it, it will be a more go with the flow competition. With that said the only planned out rules that will be STRICTLY enforced are:
* Reading the instruction carefully, twice and remembering them.
* Handing in your mix on time.
* No rudeness, name calling or patronizing posts.
It will be a 3 way Battle style competition as well as a team competition so people can talk to each other and etc.
There will be no points awarded but people will be "knocked out" instead.
Since there is not a point system for this one, If you dont follow the rules above you will be kicked out of the competition on first strike offense.
There will be 3 Teams of 4 members, with one member being a captain.
We Will pick the teams.
The captain will be picked by you guys, see diagram below.

Each team will have a "sponsor" who will be in charge of making sure you know what your doing, following the rules, and collecting your mixes and handing them to me. You will refer to them with your questions and in case of any infractions they will be the one taking care of them for your team.
Most likely to be me, toejam and smarty.
The captain of each team will be responsible for choosing what member does what "battle".
The captain has to be careful in picking who does what has every member must participate at least once before being picked again.
Each battle will be different and will not necessarily be consisting of "doing a 20 minutes mix" but more of small creativity tests along with mixes.
Each battle will obviously have 3 people, the losers will be knocked out of the competition, leaving their team with one less member.

In case a team captain gets knocked out he then picks his replacement.
The team who is left at the end no matter how many members left is the winner, having knocked out all the other teams.
How long the competition last, is up to you guys and who wins what battle, we wanted to give you guys more control with this one.
We arent sure if we want to then have the remaining amount of member on the winning team to do a battle and then that person gets the prize, or if we split the prize between then, we will sort that out as we get to it but i am leaning towards a one person prize to raize the stakes.
Prize is 40 quid voucher to chemical records and a myspace design.
Obviously this is going to be a very complicated competition, but has the potential to be something really cool and exciting.
For this reason i want only people who are committed and open-minded. I will only need 12 people and it is not first come first served.
I want people who are serious and not do their mixes at the last minute. There is a massive prize, so please take this seriously.
With people like barbarella donating over 30 quid of money and willing to do it again, it really is up to you guys to please please not make this so hard to run. The festival competition has really push me to my limits and i really would like to continue these as me and toejam and smarty can definitely come up with more interesting competitions. Again its up to you guys if you want these to continue.

Almost finshed judging! Really can't wait to put a name to mixes :) Some very good mixes and some not so good. Its hard to judge because some halves are sick and some have been wack, therefore bringing the score down. Any slips heard have had to mark down as the standard is pretty high! Good luck tho chaps, it is very close.

can anyone clear something up for me? have all these tunes been released? because i've never seen the june miller ones anywhere and i had a quick search and didn't find them anywhere on vinyl or to download.
safety i have no clue, gonna have to ask adam about it.
also there will only be 3 teams going thru. has there is no way the judges can listen to another 8 hours of mixes.

i'm all judged up. a mixed bag i thought. one mix stood out for me and it's unfortunate it was the first one i listened to because it set a precedent
Back from my mental Birthday/Daughter's christening weekend. Comp 4 looks wicked. The website sounds like a great idea too. I'm willing to throw a fiver into the pot to get things up and running.
