Rules:
- One tune per member. Non members are welcome to join the board and take part.
- Tunes must somehow be drum n bass. From Bossa Nova to Skullstep, any style is
welcome just as long as it feels like dnb.
- Only sounds from the sample pack. Go crazy with any processing that you can think of,
but no additional samples, recordings or synths.
- Remember to keep notes of your processing, as you may be asked to prove how you
came up with any sounds in your tune.
- SINCE OUR BOARD MEMBERS HAVE BUSY LIVES (ALLEGEDLY) WE HAVE DECIDED TO EXTEND THE COMP FOR ANOTHER WEEK

- Render only to mp3, 320 Kbps.

Assessment:
A public thread will be used to provide links to download and preview the submissions.
All tunes will remain anonymous to ensure a fair vote. Any entrant or members found to be
identifying and/or promoting tunes publicly or in private, will be disqualified and banned
from future competitions. The winners will be decided solely on public opinion.
Democracy sucks, but it’ll do for now…
Winners:
There will be a winner and a runner up, and the results will be released at the last minute of 2008.
The winner will be notified the following day by a carnival parade around his residence,
and greeted by the organisers and Elton John. A private jet will fly you to the headquarters
of Sony BMG, where you will have a meeting with the CEO, and sign a $2 million contract.
The runner up will receive a text message, and will have the opportunity to be the winner’s
sidekick/bitch.

no real need for monitors man, many big names started off with hi fi rigs.
just makesure you preview your finished tune on loads of different systems and you'll be able to make a decent judgement.

and gordo m8 i take it u use fl? lol not dissing jus wondering as these samples are perfect for a slicer lol
cubase man here, but the drums are courtesy of sir Logikz, and i think that he's using the lego of sequencers that is FL...

defo, i had plans for the winning tune to be the base for a remix competition. and there's nothing stopping us from turning it into a vocal piece.

this competition is gonna be fun, i've never done something like this yet. was expecting a bigger sample pack but the size is perfect. excited to hear the results!!

i've got a dirty tech-step sound goin. pretty happy wit it.:)
I got a at first darker jungle sounding bit then a happier 180 bpm bouncey brea-dnb beat.
The bass is coming along slowly tho :/ It doesn't give much choice. Maybe with some distortion a reece could be possible and all.

I haven't started yet, been busy as this week... the pack had clean waves in it though as far as I remember, so I'm looking forward to mangling them to fook and making some nasty (probably ear killing) bass :p

read the assessment part of the rules. some people have been here longer and/or have created rapports with other members. In order to give everyone a fair chance, it needs to be hush hush who did what tune. Hold your bragging for the next year, as we'll open a new thread for comments and feedback.
