Why not to begin this year with a mix competition???
I had launched the idea the last time, thus I allows me to relaunch the idea!!

Righty ho then, if everyone records the mixes to be submitted at the end of january, but do not post them, and we'll do the mix 1, mix 2, mix 3 etc idea, then theres no favouritism. judging starts february. hows that sound? :dual:
im up for this.
whats the time constraints/guidelines and other stuff like that?
30 minutes or 40 minutes maximum...
All styles, 2,3,4 etcc decks mixing..
No mcs, no computers...

There is an easy way to get rid of the bias, strip the names from the mixes.
1) Dj sends mix to dnbforum crew.
2) After deadline, Dnbforum crew removes name, adds tag randomly, i.e. Dj 1, Dj 2
3) Dnbforum puts up all the mixes at the same time or in groups, in random order.
Problem sorted. This procedure also gets rid of problems with submitting mixes, as they all get out to listeners at the same time. It will also be fun to guess what dj submitted what.
Democracy and less bias.
I don't like the mod judging idea. If anything, the winners of the previous competition should be the 'pro' judges at the next if we go for choice by committee.

Bah... I can see why you wouldnt want noobs posting mixes for a comp but in all honesty I fail to see why the number of posts would reflect ability. Tbh I would have thought the opposite... IMO if you have a crap load of posts and havent been a member that long then you've spent too much time posting and not enough time mixing.

as you can understand though we have a recurring problem of noobs signing up to d/l tunes without contributing to forum discussion. the whole point of a forum is to discuss things! so it really isnt too much to ask that you have some posts under your belt to enter.
shows us that you know how we roll :spliff:
also, i think it'd be an anticlimax if the winner of the comp turned out to be HoT_sHiT_2o0o cos no one would have heard of him and if he's not a regular it'll be another year before he remembers to sign in again to find out if he won, and we'd have no one to congratulate (n)
there'll be plenty more mix competitions. use it as a motivator to get in to the next comp... we'd like to hear your tunes. why not post them in the members mixes forum? get some feedback from the others... (y)

i've seen this happen on other forums where there is a required amount of posts to do something...
people start spamming the forums with their mindless off topic banter just to get their post count up.
look mate, if you can do it respectfully, then its cool. but make sure what youre contributing is within reason and respectful. :zest:
probably best to wait for the next comp imo ;-)

don't worry im not guna go into every thread and type YEHMATE on the end....thats just pointless...i will see if i can solve any tune id's before the end of the months & keep postin my mixes up!
31 January...I think it s a little short for the end competition...

Yeah I see your point Gumby... NPs and thanks for posting on the other mixes... I actually post on behalf of Darkus-F as he aint PC savvy (LoL) but he is driving me mental as he has had no feedback... saw the comp post while he was round and said "This will get you some exposure" at which point we both saw the 100 posts rule.... almost saw his bottom lip tremble LoL.
