Right, all the votes have been tallied up and its time to announce the winner. Its was a very close call but the winner is......
COSHH
closely followed by Jay Walker and Smarty.
Big thank you to everyone who entered, the submissions were superb. Hopefully this will be the start of something regular in the way of mix comps, and if it gets really popular maybe we can persuade Stu to do something in the way of prices.
But for now, Coshh is the mix champion and here is the link to his winning mix.

I have to admit, I didn't vote because I was biased for Coshh, regardless of the other excellent mixes so it wouldn't have been fair.
congratulations but personally I find that the mix n is not really good. no ambiense, just bass and melodies blurred. for the next session we need juges because the 3 winners are just the most populars dj on the forum. nobody have listening all the mix.

this is actually a really fair point. perhaps just the mods should judge to give all members (regardless of post count) a fair chance, and ensure all mixes entered are actually listened to.

It was obvious that coshh was going to win. the set was really well mixed.

There is an easy way to get rid of the bias, strip the names from the mixes.
1) Dj sends mix to dnbforum crew.
2) After deadline, Dnbforum crew removes name, adds tag randomly, i.e. Dj 1, Dj 2
3) Dnbforum puts up all the mixes at the same time or in groups, in random order.
Problem sorted. This procedure also gets rid of problems with submitting mixes, as they all get out to listeners at the same time. It will also be fun to guess what dj submitted what.
Democracy and less bias.
I don't like the mod judging idea. If anything, the winners of the previous competition should be the 'pro' judges at the next if we go for choice by committee.

And comments about the 'kiddies' are seriously misplaced, a lot of Coshh's biggest supporters on the site are older than you SwanE, and a lot more open minded. You pretty much state you dont like modern dnb in your sig anyway so, yeah, good luck with that.

The other thing I liked about this mix comp is that it was mainly initiated by forum users, and not the mangement. Just showing that many of our users are smart and mature enough to be able to create something on their own through teamwork and not by moaning until the management does something, big up everyone! :2thumbs:

i think the point was that because he is well known on the forums, his mix wouldve been listened to more than others, thus giving him an advantage. im not saying that he didnt deserve to win. he probably did have the best mix. its just unlikely that all mixes submitted were actually listened to by everyone. people are more likely to click on coshhs mix than someone they dont know. all i want to ensure is that ALL djs have their mixes listened to. noobs included.

It's bollox to say Coshh only won 'cos he's the most popular'.
Of course, some ppl are gonna dl and listen his mix 1st cos he's active and busy and always putting good mixes up. Ppl know to expect quality.
It's like saying 'What's the best DJ set of all time?' most ppl are gonna say Andy C / Friction / Hype / etc over some other less well known DJ.
Well done Coshh, and all who entered, and who suggested the competition is the first place. :2thumbs:
Those moaning about it being unfair should look at the work some other ppl (including the winners) are doing to keep high quality new mixes flowing around forum day in day out, not just when there's a comp on...

Next time round' i'll play wobble-filler tunes,3 at a time ,and win.

ps You need more classic old tunes. You played a few old tracks but vague ones. You'll have to spend some dosh cosshh!!! This will help you in the long run.
