Check out the DOA faq on the Grid. It explains all.
just make sure you come back to dnbforum.com afterwards!
Better still go to this site! HOOVER RESOURCE CENTER (http://www.kickme.to/hoovers/)
Ohh crap! That site is down! It was such a good site too. :(

it how most people make them though. Especially for those reversed hoover sounds.
if you mean sampling your own synth i agree.

haha yeah, it was a pretty shoddy effort!
If you want the authentic sound you got to thieve it.
Waste of time trying to emulate a sound 100% when you could just steal it.
gabber records are a good place to steal ripping high end sounds, or you can sample a good sound off these tunes
Doc scott - here come the drumz
prodigy - charly
human resource - dominator
bizzy b - dubplate wars / slow jam
all my homemade ones are on another comp sadly but these should work out OK
now i can tell you how to do it:
-you need 2 saw waves (or more, even 4 could do it)
-detune them as much as you can without making it completely sound out of tune
-distort the other (just a teeny bit) or then add some of that fractal effect to make it sound crisp if you want
-add a bandpass filter or if you happen to have absynth then use the comb filter, and make the filter frequency shiftaround 300-600
made exactly like this it sounds a bit harsh but gives the right direction.
