View Full Version : Forum Slower???
Ever since the new front page has gone up, the site seems to be running painfully slowly! I thought it might have just been my gash modem connection, but even now at work where we have broadband its still taking 1-2 minutes to bring up each page!!! Anyone else having troubles?
Fine here? Anyone else?
Cheers for the feedback Mr Mulla, if anyone else is having problems I'll have a look into it.
Fine here..........
Balls! So why the fuck is it being so slow for me, eh?

Unlucky mate.
Im gonna chat to Drift about optimising my code, that might improve the speed a bit.
Having no problems here on a commercial 576kbps BT DSL pipe... No probs with 1Mb Telewest pipeage either? Pages load in an eye-blink...
Try doing a trace route to dnbforum.com... See where the problem is...
Below is what I'm getting, but we got dodgy firewalls a gwannin
C:\>tracert dnbforum.com
Tracing route to dnbforum.com [64.246.34.213]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms KAYAK [192.168.0.1]
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 *
Try it!
18 hops from this box (uk) to dnbforum.com (remember its hosted in the usa!) 1992 should get the best results hehe.
10 pings from a *.nl box,
--- dnbforum.com ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 127.5/137.5/160.8 ms
5 pings from my box (uk),
Ping statistics for 64.246.34.213:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 140ms, Maximum = 156ms, Average = 144ms
boh :)
Small update, Drift just went through some of my code, he managed to optimise some of the SQL calls etc. So it should improve the speed of the frontpage a weee bit.
Bigups Driftah :)
