big bud - rice n' beans w/ calibre - drop it down. drop in rice n' beans 32 or 64 bars after the first drop of calibre (can't remember the exact spot ... just where the beats kill out and the lyrics drop ...) sick double and fats' vocals drift in between the vocals of rice n' beans.

These are a couple of faves and are supa clean soundin'.
Follow da vision(Krust), Clear Skiez tease(Die), out then drop the nine so the nines first drop falls on follow da visions half step bit just over halfway through. Basslines drop back in same time...ballistic.(Oh yeah! Simple cut to the nine at the end of every four bars tops the mix nicely!)
North star(Loxy and Verse), or Gasmask rmx(Edrush-Optical)-Titan(Ram trilogy).
There's loads of great ones, but it's best to keep some secrets....

The origianll Ghostbusters theme track and The Nine Bad company Sounds wicked trust me.

To double drop the same track into its self is always good fun. Roni once pulled off the original Snapshot. Sounded like a charlston tune or something LMAO. Warhead is a good one too.

i think when a nice mellow tune is double dropped with something a bit more up beat it can add a nice bit of ambience to the more lively track if you play about with the EQs properly. try out logistics - kaleidoscope, with sub focus & danny wheeler - lost highway for an example :2thumbs:

They have to be hand-reared like a little kitten, then eventually once they've grown into a fierce lion they're unleashed unto the unsuspecting masses.

Basically a 'double drop' is quite a descriptive name for what happens - the DJ is playing one tune, and it comes to the point where the second 'breakdown' section comes (the quiet bit before the second 'drop') - and whilst this track is playing the DJ cues up and starts to mix in the second track. If s/he cues up the tracks correctly, and gets them playing at the appropriate times, then they can mix in the second track so that its intro ends (and goes into the main section, or 'the drop') at the same time the first track comes out of the 'breakdown' section and into its second 'drop'.

Andy C and Mampi Swift do it a lot, and some other DJs fail hilariously at it. The best results are obtained when you have two tracks with a similar beat or structure to the rhythm or basslines, and you can mix and blend between the two (cutting out EQs on one track at a time can also elicit interesting results because you have one tune's bassline to the melody of another) and if you get it right - get a second bassline which is in a related key (harmony wise, so a fourth or a fifth or the same key) it sounds even better.

Double drops can also be done by DJs starting their set with two tracks - and they both do their first 'drop' at the same time, Mampi Swift loves doing this, and has a few regular double drops which he likes to do. Everytime I've heard him he always double drops something with Signal by Fresh, which he then rewinds (as usual) and does again. The man's done more double drops than you've had hot dinners.

of course, doesn't mean to say i enjoy dj's that use a poor cliched gimic to try and show off to the detriment of the enjoyment of a track, each to their own but that and rewinds piss me off...

stop start stop start, then over an hour i realise the've only played 6 or 7 tracks!

not saying DD's can't be good, as a good mix is a good mix, but they're few and far between and only encourage rewinds.

Rapidshare, MegaUpload... depends. It's different for everyone. You'll never find one that everyone is happy with. Some people get blocked in their country with certain sites, some have too many limits. Just for myself in particular I can't use Sendspace until i figure out why it's crashing my browser. If you could up it on Rapidshare or MegaUpload it would be appreciated.

Thats so wierd, i discoverd tht mix the other day and bin caning it since. (The bassline is sick in the other side, so simple but hasnt got borin)

My random fave is sbs and skiba - big things (other side of killer dj) and as it drops sbs - cold turky. I think same artists dds r bit gay usualy but they seem to complement each other so well.

You can dd krust warhead and q proj - ask not vip into any song virtualy and it sounds quality

hmm.wasnt too sure what double drops were.looked at other threads and found out,i used to find loads of these when i used to mix alot(used to call em my magic moments),had written them down on scraps of paper,gonna need to find em as i had some wicked ones,pretty sure one was champion dj n fade 2 black,where it was dropped they would both come to a bass drop n then fade out to leave fade 2 black to kick off.
