Ok people!
Here are the 7 tracks submitted.
All are sounding... interesting! Got some really great sounds in here but before we pick a winner, we need a public vote for the top 3!
The top 3 will then be handed to the judges for a winner and 2 runners up to be picked!
(Prizes are still being sorted!)

b is a crusher
great work everybody, seven tunes, not a bad turn out after all.
all the submissions have similar strong points (probably cos of the nature of the compo)
everyone got interesting and original drums and thick ambience. i learned something new (if fairly obvious) that recording your own sounds is a goldmine, and i use my recordings in every tune i do these days. why dont i write some highly qualified reviews
A great pads with the filter sweeps, the drums are a bit too highpassed
B cool sounds all around (specially the drums) but i find the bassline too messy
C heavy drums, great ambience
D not only the best tune in the compo, it holds its own compared to professional tunes too. really impressed with it, id be interested to know who wrote it.
the vocoder bit with the voice is brilliant. i think i figured out who wrote it now actually
E great effort, again the production is up to par with professional tunes (i think i know who this one is too)
F instead of minimal, somebody went maximal. really full on but i think everything could be a couple of semi tones lower, for more weight
G its tight and funky if rather abstract
all really interesting, nice work guys! gona listen a few more times before i vote

OMG some of my competitors tracks are AMAZING! Fucking solid tunes everyone! So how long does public voting last till we move on to the top 3?
normally until there are enough votes for three clearly discernible chart toppers and then the judges decided whos the winner and do a write-up on them. usually a few weeks, this time we have a bit less than half of the usual amount of tunes so it shouldnt take too long. maybe a week or two.
having a hard time decieding between 2 of them tbh...hmmm...
the suspense! hey think this should be sticky? or not, cos sometimes i think normal threads get more hits than stickys

Because I'm a judge, I'm not gonna cast votes on this open poll, dont want people thinking I have a favourite already, and will be swayed with my choice. I'll patiently wait until the final 3 are handed to me, listen several times over and make my choice then. And give feedback accordingly.

b is my overall favourite but c was very close after it it was longer it may have taken it
e was sick aswell but i kept waitin for it to drop into something with more energy but unfortunatly never did
good job on all the tracks tho guys fairplay

upon first listen i can narrow it down to B, D & E, dunno if i would be able to choose one though

Well Sam told me he would pm me high quality versions of the tracks to judge.............that was about a week ago lol! still waiting for the tracks, so I can listen and do my job ;)

the most obvious problem is the top end, very crunchy, sometimes even sounds like hi-hats are out of time/glitched, espcially considering that people generally upload MP3's, the stream is then recompressed at 128....i'm very suprised you dont notice the problems? clarity in the production i think is an important aspect to figure out which track i would choose in our final choice, so hearing as high-quality as possible is important, esp considering that on a creative level all the tracks are quite close together

haha, I noticed that hi-hat thing, especially in intros, but I had no idea it was to do with the compression. Always wondered how people could mess up their hi-hats! lol

Well im Still waiting to be given the high quality versions of the tracks to be able to judge. And i believe the other judges are still waiting too. Seems that sam has dissappeared off the face of the earth!

Mate that would be sick! Sorry lads... Been at the ed frige fest with no Internet/a broken laptop for two weeks. Would be so helpful if you could do that logikz. Can't do anything till I get the laptop fixed n that might not be for a few weeks. Ozime, miszt and Fletch are our three judges so if you could pm them then I owe you sexual favours!

Like I said.. Laptops broken. Having to do all my internet stuff off my phone. I thought logikz was sending you the tracks? I tried messaging him but his inbox was full or some shit. Sorry. Like I say. Time and money issues mean I can't do anything yet! :-(

To be honest mate I'd just give up, we have....
Logikz only has access to some of the tracks apperntly, i think we have to wait until fatSam gets back *sigh*

creators of tracks B, D and E please step forward, send PM or in this thread why not, its time now, getting rather late actually, so winners come forward and to solve this, please e-mail the 320s to the following addy house.of.ekman@gmail.com,
i will put them in a zip and send to judges, or, alternatively, mail them straight to the judges.
